Camera access for a unit

If a unit has a camera, you can save on it the link to the portal or app where you already watch its video, like the manufacturer's portal or your installer's viewer. From then on the unit shows a button that opens that portal in another tab, or in your phone's browser.
The video doesn't go through the app. The button only takes you to your camera's portal, where you sign in as usual.
Before you start
- The Administrator and the Fleet manager add and change the accesses. Everyone else sees and opens them on the units assigned to them.
- Each unit can have up to 4 accesses, for example one for the front camera and one for the installer's portal.
Add an access
- On the map, open Settings and go to Devices.
- Edit the unit.
- In Cameras, tap Add camera access.
- Write a Name that reads well on the button, for example "Front camera".
- Paste the Viewer link. It has to start with https:// or http://.
- If it helps, use the Note for your user or the equipment number in that portal.
- Tap Save. The access is saved right there, even if you don't save the form.
Please don't write passwords in the link or the note. If the link has a user or a password inside it we can't save it. You can save it without them and type them in the portal when you open it.
Open the camera
On the map, select the unit. Next to the other shortcuts you'll see a button with the access's name. If the unit has several, the button says View cameras and lets you choose.
The first time you open a portal from the web, we show you the address before opening it. Check that it's the one you expect before typing your password.
Viewers without a secure connection
Some installer portals use http:// instead of https://. We accept them but mark them as Not secure: that connection isn't encrypted, and the password you type there could be seen on the network. We warn you before opening it, and you can choose Open anyway or Cancel. If you can, ask your provider for a link that starts with https://.
Privacy
The app doesn't receive or store the video, only the link. If the camera records drivers or passengers, it's up to your company to let them know.
On your phone
Open Management › Devices, edit the unit and use the Cameras group. To open the camera, tap the unit on the map or open its detail.
